Ca' d'Oro, City palace in Venice, Italy
One of the older and most famous palaces on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy.
Built between 1428 and 1430 for the Contarini family, who provided Venice with eight Doges between 1043 and 1676.
It is now a public museum dedicated to preserving gothic architecture and displaying the Giorgio Franchetti gallery.
You can visit Ca' d'Oro from Monday to Friday, between 8:15 am and 2:00 pm.
Known as Ca' d'Oro ('Golden House') due to the gilt and polychrome external decorations which once adorned its walls.
