Selous Game Reserve, Game reserve in Tanzania
The Selous Game Reserve is one of the largest faunal reserves in the world.
It was named after Englishman Sir Frederick Selous, a famous big game hunter and early conservationist.
The reserve has a variety of wildlife in a diversity of habitats, making it a cultural treasure for Tanzania.
The northern part of the reserve, due to its accessibility, is the most visited section.
It's unique for its undisturbed nature and the variety of animals that can be seen, including elephants, hippopotamuses, African wild dogs, cape buffalos and crocodiles.
