Ol Doinyo Lengai, Active volcano in Tanzania
Ol Doinyo Lengai is an active volcano located in the East African Rift Valley, northern Tanzania.
The mountain has been worshipped by the Maasai people as the home of their god for centuries.
In the Maasai language, Ol Doinyo Lengai means 'Mountain of God'.
Despite its active status, it's a popular destination for adventurous hikers.
It's the only known volcano that erupts natrocarbonatite lava, which is cooler and less viscous than other lavas.
