Quiriguá is a small Mayan archaeological site located in the southeastern part of Guatemala.
The city-state reached its peak during the 8th century AD, under the rule of K'ak' Tiliw Chan Yopaat.
It is famous for its carved stone monuments, including stelae and zoomorphs.
The site is open to visitors and includes a museum displaying various artifacts.
Quiriguá holds some of the finest examples of Mayan stone carvings known as 'glyphs'.
