Arch of Peace, Triumphal arch in Milan, Italy.
The Arco della Pace is a neoclassical triumphal arch located at the center of Simplon Square in Milan.
Built between 1807 and 1838, it was originally intended to celebrate Napoleon's victories.
Today, it stands as a symbol of peace, marking the beginning of Corso Sempione, a street leading to the city of Sempione in Switzerland.
Visitors can admire its intricate bas-reliefs and sculptures during the day or enjoy its illuminated beauty at night.
Unlike other triumphal arches, the Arco della Pace faces away from the city center.
