Orsanmichele, Church in Florence, Italy
Orsanmichele is a church in the Italian city of Florence.
The building was constructed on the site of the kitchen garden of the monastery that used to grow cabbage and was originally built as a grain market in 1337.
The church is famous for its artworks, especially the sculptures of the guilds of Florence.
It's located on Via Calzaiuoli and is open to the public from Monday to Friday.
Each niche on the outside of the church once contained a statue representing one of the guilds of Florence.
