The Meiji Shrine is a Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken.
Constructed in 1920, the shrine was destroyed during World War II but was rebuilt shortly thereafter.
It's a popular site for traditional Japanese weddings and one of the most important religious sites in Japan.
The shrine is located near Harajuku Station and Yoyogi Park, making it easily accessible for tourists.
Every year on January 1st, the shrine hosts Hatsumode, the first shrine visit of the New Year.
