Tubbataha Reef, Marine sanctuary in the Philippines
Tubbataha Reef is a protected area of the Philippines located in the middle of the Sulu Sea.
The reef was declared a National Marine Park on August 11, 1988.
It is considered a sacred place by local people and is also an important site for scientific research.
Diving in Tubbataha can only be done on a liveaboard boat.
Tubbataha Reef is home to over 600 species of fish, including the threatened species like the Napoleon wrasse and sharks.
