Chocolate Hills, Geological formation in Bohol, Philippines
The Chocolate Hills are a group of unusually shaped hills located in the middle of the island of Bohol in Philippines.
These hills were formed ages ago by the uplift of coral deposits and the action of rainwater and erosion.
The hills are considered a National Geological Monument and they play a vital role in local folklore.
The best time to visit the Chocolate Hills is during the dry season, from November to May.
During the dry season, the grass covering the hills turns brown, giving them a 'chocolate' appearance.
