Mausoleum of Maussollos, Mausoleum in Turkey
The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Constructed in 351 BCE, it served as a tomb for Mausolus, a Persian Empire satrap.
Designed by architects Satyros and Pythius, it stands as a significant symbol of Hellenistic art.
Located in Bodrum, the remnants of the structure now serve as an important archaeological site.
Though destroyed, the mausoleum has lent its name to all grand tombs known as 'mausoleums'.
