St James's Palace, Royal palace in London
St James's Palace is one of the oldest royal palaces in the United Kingdom.
Built by Henry VIII between 1531 and 1536, it was the main residence of kings and queens of England for over 300 years.
The palace houses the Royal Collection, one of the largest and most important art collections in the world.
It is not open to the public except on certain occasions.
