Wellington Arch, Triumphal arch in London
Wellington Arch, also known as Constitution Arch, is a triumphal arch located to the south of Hyde Park in central London.
Built between 1826 and 1830, it was intended to commemorate Britain's victories in the Napoleonic Wars.
The statue atop the arch, depicting the Angel of Peace descending on the Quadriga of War, is the largest bronze sculpture in Europe.
It is now managed by English Heritage and is open to the public.
Originally, the arch was topped with an equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington, which was relocated in 1882.
