The Ruins of Quilmes is an impressive archaeological complex located on the Calchaquí Valleys in Tucumán, Argentina.
Once home to the Quilmes civilization, it was one of the most important pre-Columbian settlements of Argentina.
Viewed as an icon of indigenous resistance, the ruins bear witness to a powerful culture capable of resisting Incan invasions.
Visitors can explore the onsite museum that showcases artifacts from the site and climb up the hills for a panoramic view.
Covering 30 hectares, it's notable for its terraced design thought to have been used for farming and defense.
