Isla de San Martín, River Island in Argentina
Isla de San Martín is situated in the Iguazu River and located within the Iguazu National Park.
The island was discovered by the Spanish Conquistador Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca in the 16th century.
It's named after Ginés de San Martín, a chaplain who accompanied Spanish explorers.
Access to the island is often determined by the water levels of the Iguazu Falls.
Isla de San Martín offers a unique vantage point for viewing the famous 'Devil's Throat' cataract.
