The Vincent Thomas Bridge is a 1,500-foot-long suspension bridge, crossing the Los Angeles Harbor in the U.S. state of California, linking San Pedro, Los Angeles, with Terminal Island.
Opened in 1963, it was named after California Assemblyman Vincent Thomas who represented San Pedro and had a significant role in its construction.
The bridge has been featured in numerous movies and television shows such as 'To Live and Die in L.A.', 'Charlie's Angels', and 'Gone in 60 Seconds'.
It is part of State Route 47, which is a major transportation route in the southern part of Los Angeles County and northern Orange County.
The Vincent Thomas Bridge is the fourth longest suspension bridge in California and the 76th longest span in the world.
