Iximche, Archaeological site in Guatemala
Iximche is a pre-Columbian Mesoamerican archaeological site in the western highlands of Guatemala.
Founded by the Kaqchikel Maya in 1470, Iximche was the capital of the Late Postclassic period.
The site includes temple-pyramids, palaces, and two ballcourts.
Located in Tecpán Guatemala, it is a popular tourist destination with a museum displaying artifacts.
Ceremonies by modern Maya people are still held at Iximche's ancient ruins.
