Colorado General Assembly, Legislative body in Colorado
The Colorado General Assembly is the state legislature of the State of Colorado.
It was created by the 1876 state constitution, providing 65 members in the House and 35 in the Senate.
The assembly holds regular sessions annually starting on the second Wednesday in January.
Members are elected to two-year terms with term limits for four consecutive terms for representatives and two consecutive terms for senators.
The Colorado General Assembly is one of the few state legislatures that provide live video and audio coverage of its proceedings.
