Roter Sand, Lighthouse in Germany
Roter Sand is a lighthouse in the North Sea, in the Weser estuary.
Built between 1885 and 1890, it was the first building ever to be erected directly on the sea floor.
The Roter Sand Lighthouse has become an iconic symbol of German maritime history.
It is no longer in operation but can be visited with guided tours.
The lighthouse is known for its distinctive red and white bands.
