Hall of Mirrors, Hall of Mirrors in France
The Hall of Mirrors is the central gallery of the Palace of Versailles and is renowned as being one of the most famous rooms in the world.
Constructed between 1678 and 1684, the Hall of Mirrors played a key role in French history, including the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
With its 357 mirrors, the hall represents the political, economic and artistic success of France.
It's open to public as part of the Versailles tour and can get quite crowded during peak tourist season.
Each of the seventeen mirror-clad arches reflects the seventeen arcaded windows that overlook the gardens.
