Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Museum in India
The Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, formerly known as the Victoria and Albert Museum, is the oldest public museum in Mumbai.
Established on May 2, 1872, the museum was renamed in honor of its key contributor Dr. Bhau Daji Lad in 1975.
Houses a diverse collection showcasing Mumbai's culture and history including fine artwork, photographs, maps, and artifacts.
Situated in Byculla, it offers various programs and events for students, scholars, and the general public.
Hosts the Mumbai Gallery which shows life in Mumbai from the late 19th to the early 20th Century.
