Palmaria, Island in Italy
Palmaria is an island in the Italian region of Liguria, located in the sea off the city of La Spezia.
Historically used as a quarry, it was listed as part of Porto Venere's UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
The island’s cultural artifacts include remains of a Roman villa and the virtually deserted village of Case Vecchie.
Available ferry services provide easy access from Porto Venere to Palmaria Island.
It's the largest island in the archipelago located within the Gulf of Poets.
