Ludus Magnus, Gladiatorial school in Rome

The Ludus Magnus is the largest of the gladiatorial schools in Rome.

Built by the emperor Domitian (81-96 AD) in the late first century AD, it was directly connected to the Colosseum.

Served as an integral part of Roman culture for public games and entertaining spectacles.

Today, remains of Ludus Magnus can be visited next to the Colosseum.

It's the only known gladiatorial barrack of which a physical structure survives.
