The Magic Clock, Efteling's Fairy Tale
Welcome to the Efteling, one of the most magical and enchanting theme parks in the Netherlands. As your tourist guide, I would like to introduce you to one of the park's oldest and most beloved attractions, De Magische Klok. De Magische Klok is a fairytale located in the Sprookjesbos (Fairytale Forest) section of the park. It opened in 1952 and was one of the first ten fairytales to be added to the forest. Designed by Anton Pieck and narrated by Peter Reijnders, this fairytale tells the story of six prince brothers who order a clock from a wizard. However, when the clock is finished after two years, they do not have enough money to pay for it. The wizard sets out to sell the clock, but his assistant, Slimme Toon, decides to help the prince brothers by offering them the clock at a much lower price. Unfortunately, they forget the bell hammer, and Slimme Toon goes back to retrieve it. While he is gone, the wizard turns the prince brothers into stone statues that play their trumpets every quarter of an hour. Slimme Toon is forced to stay on the tower forever to ring the bell. De Magische Klok is located in a corner of the Herautenplein, between De Kikkerkoning and De Indische Waterlelies. The Herautenplein was renovated in 1988 under the direction of Ton van de Ven, and in 2012, it became even more detailed. As you enter the Fairytale Forest, you will see the beautiful clock tower with its intricate design and colorful characters. The fairytale is told in Dutch, but there are English translations available for non-Dutch speakers. You can also download the Efteling app, which provides audio guides in multiple languages. De Magische Klok is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting the Efteling. It's a perfect place to take photos and make memories with your family and friends. Don't forget to check out the other fairytales in the Sprookjesbos, such as Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, and Sleeping Beauty. Thank you for choosing me as your tourist guide. I hope you enjoy your visit to the Efteling and have a magical time exploring all the park has to offer!
