Kazan Cathedral, Cathedral in Saint Petersburg
Kazan Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, is a cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church on the Nevsky Prospekt in Saint Petersburg.
It was built between 1801 and 1811 to house the miracle-working icon of Our Lady of Kazan.
The cathedral's design is inspired by St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
The cathedral is open daily from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Unlike other major cathedrals in the city, it has not been reconsecrated as a museum.
