Park of Versailles, Gardens and park in Versailles, France.
The Gardens of Versailles occupy part of what was once the Domaine royal de Versailles, the royal demesne of the château of Versailles.
Created by Louis XIV in 1661, these gardens are a magnificent example of French formal garden style.
The gardens are adorned with statues and fountains which depict themes from Greek mythology.
The park is open to the public and offers guided tours.
The Gardens of Versailles are one of the most visited sites in France, and are on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
