Naubat Khana, Ceremonial drum house in Red Fort
The Naubat Khana is an impressive gateway for musicians in the Red Fort.
It was constructed in 1639-48 during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan.
Drummers used to play at scheduled times in the Naubat Khana during the Mughal era.
Tourists can find the Naubat Khana near the entrance after passing through Lahore Gate.
Also known as the 'Naqqar Khana', it housed music played to announce the arrival of the emperor.
