Diwan-i-Am, Hall of Public Audience in Red Fort, India
The Diwan-i-Am, or Hall of Public Audience, is a room within the Red Fort in Delhi where the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and his successors received members of the general public and heard their grievances.
Constructed between 1631 and 1648, the Diwan-i-Am served as a symbol of royal justice and authority.
The hall's columns and arches exhibit the rich architectural style of the Mughal era.
Today, it is a popular tourist attraction in Delhi, open to visitors from sunrise to sunset.
The Diwan-i-Am houses the famous Peacock Throne, which was later moved to Iran by Nadir Shah.
