White Tower, Historic castle in London
The White Tower is a central tower, the old keep, at the Tower of London.
It was built by William the Conqueror during the late 11th century, and it was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite.
The White Tower houses the Royal Armouries collections, including the Line of Kings exhibit, which features royal armors of English kings from Henry VIII to Charles II.
The White Tower is open for public visits and guided tours are available.
The White Tower, not only being the most complete eleventh-century palace in Europe, but is also famous for its long and bloody history.
