Kegon Falls, Waterfall in Nikko, Japan
Kegon Falls is a nearly 100 meter tall waterfall located at Lake Chūzenji in Nikko National Park.
The falls were discovered in 782 by the Buddhist priest Shōdō and his followers.
Kegon Falls is considered one of Japan's top three waterfalls and is a popular tourist destination, especially during autumn when the leaves change color.
There is an elevator for visitors to descend down to an observation deck near the base of the falls.
In winter, the waterfall can freeze, creating a stunning ice sculpture.
