Lake Chūzenji, Lake in Japan
Lake Chūzenji is a scenic lake in Nikkō National Park in the city of Nikkō, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.
The lake was formed over 20,000 years ago when Mount Nantai erupted and blocked the river.
It's known for its autumn colors and hot-spring resorts, and it's also home to the British Embassy Villa Memorial Park.
The lake is a popular tourist destination, with many hiking trails and boat tours available.
Lake Chūzenji is the highest lake in Japan in terms of surface elevation.
